Here is another shutterspot for you to seek. Locals should have no issue recognizing this. A famous spot, good shopping, and lots of activities. It’s interesting as the statue is imported.
Anyhow, like other spots, the idea is to get yourself to the exact spot these three photographs were taken. Once there, you should be able to triangulate to the spot. Because each GPSr is unique, you are provided a 100 meter leeway. Certainly that should prove no issue if you are there.
Disguised coordinates:
39° 35.694N
75° 17.871W
In order to help encourage folks to actually visit the shutterspot instead of merely using Google, I ask for a photograph of you at the spot to be included with the find log.
While the spot is available 24/7, you may have more fun on the weekends.

This is the latest shutterspot I have submitted. I have wanted to create a spot out of this for some time, but it seems like every time I go here, I don’t stop and do the necessary legwork. I took the time on this blustery morning to get the needed information.
For those who are unfamiliar with shutterspots, it’s a GPS game. It’s sort of like virtual geocaching, but it turns the experience on its head. Instead of providing coordinates to go find a statue, plaque, etc., photographs are published. The player needs to report the coordinates of the spot. All the photographs are taken from the same exact location. The challenge for the players is to find that exact spot. Players are provided a 100 meter grace.
The shutterspots web site post disguised coordinates for the spot. That is so you know whether you are looking for something here in New Jersey or in Australia! The disguised coordinates are within 10 km of the actual spot. Just remember, 10 km is a lot of ground to cover.
So, dear reader, here are three photographs. Can you find the exact spot I took these photographs? If so, go there, take the coordinates and a photograph of you with Mary.
The disguised coordinates for this spot are:
39° 42.382N
75° 26.368W

Yesterday I changed plans for today. Originally I was heading to the Pine Barrens, but I stumbled across something in Delaware and decided to re-route my day. I figured if I was going to be here, I might as well try to rectify my DNF.
I looked at the maps again to see where north and south would be in the same direction. I looked at my track log from last July. Every place I came up with I had been to before. Hmmm . . . I tried a couple spots thinking perhaps I just missed something. Bingo!
But hadn’t I been there? Ah, I thought I spotted my mistake. I awoke very early, strapped the kayak to the truck and took off. I watched the sun rise not too far away. Ah, memories. I have fond memories of watching the sun rise about 10 miles south of here. Adolescence.
Anyhow, I actually drove the road that wasn’t here when I lived this way and that made the difference. I had driven by the signs last July, but I was on the wrong side. I figured I could not have been more than 10 feet way. Sigh . . . forget everything I wrote last year, the signs are where they should be. It looks like there is now a gap that wasn’t there when you took the original photograph.
Thanks, Bob. This was a good hunt and one that got me thinking.

Here s another shutterspot for your enjoyment.
Shutterspotting turns virtual caching on its head. Instead of posting the coordinates to a monument, plaque, or other sight to see and then having the cacher go there, a shutterspot shares photographs of a spot. The challenge is to find that exact spot and take coordinates of where that spot is. This is usually far more challenging than virtual caching.
Often, as it is here, three photographs taken from the same spot are provided to help one triangulate to the spot. So, do you know where this is? Locals have certainly passed by here many times in their travels, but do you recall where?
The provided information is that this spot is near Port Norris. The disguised coordinates are:
39° 18.238N
74° 51.642 W
Disguised coordinates are provided to help get you into the general area (as opposed to Idaho, for instance), but are off enough to provide a challenge.
Find the spot and take a photograph of you standing there. Enjoy!
