It’s not a record, but it is emblematic of my scavenger hunting. I am nearly two years tardy logging this hunt. I took these photographs on 29 October 2006 in New Hope, PA. Like many other scavenger hunts, the photographs sit in my archives waiting for me to re-discover them.
Last evening I loaded a CD of some stuff to look through. I am slowly wading through thousands of CDs to attempt to provide some organization. Ultimately, it is a losing battle. But from time to time I find a gem. Other times I find things to log. Go figure . . .
I thought this home was pretty with it painted as it is. It makes for a pleasant site as one drives north through town.

A year or so ago as I was fumbling through my scavenger hunt database I realized I had never logged this hunt. How could that be? I know I have plenty of photographs of cannons in parks. I am reasonably certain I even sought one specificly for this hunt. Yet no log. Hmmm . . .
It’s not like it is a big deal. I know where there are cannons. Shoot, these here are close to me and within my regular travels. Heck, I’ve even logged other scavenger hunts with plaques from this very park. Yet this hunt remains unlogged by me.
It has become somewhat of a goof for us as every time I am here, I have neither the GPS or a camera. That has happened multiple times.
Well today was the day for this to fall. So, here is the mighty cannon in Newfield’s little memorial park. Ta da!

Ah, another archived hunt. I believe this is the third incarnation of a state’s welcome sign. I have sought a different one for each listing.
I’ve never understood why the governor’s name is added to these signs. State parks are the same. It seems a needless taxpayer expenditure every few years to update these signs. All for what? Vanity. Pffft.

With so many of these hunts, it’s difficult to remember to log them all. Seriously. As I am going through the photographs from today I realized this shot would be perfect for this hunt. So I look up the hunt to gather what I need and much to my surprise, this one is archived already. I suppose the 4.1 MCE scared off the owner. I’ve been there before. I hardly care any longer. I have one at 2.0 and it’s been logged. Go figure . . .
Anyhow, the GPS is indeed the star of the show. This was taken on the beach in Cape May Point as I futzed around with some shots I was going to use as a shutterspot. I decided against that.

I love lobster traps. Way back when I was in prep school I used to have many of these around. One I sanded down, placed some plate glass in, and had a nice little coffee table.
At the shore many folks use these as lawn decorations. This one was found on Bayshore in West Cape May, NJ, the lima bean capital of the world.
