Last weekend Fritz and I attended the 18th Annual Downtown Car Show in Millville. We found lots of vehicles for the scavenger hunt. Admittedly, we were a bit surprosed not to find a Shelby there. I spoke with one Mustang owner who told me there was a local Shelby owner, but he didn’t know if he was in the show or not.
My disappointment was brief as I read a blurb in the newspaper this week that there was going to be a Shelby race at the racetrack. Shelby’s from all over would be present. What a grand way to log this! But soon I was told we had plans on Saturday. I thought I might be able to sneak over there anyhow, but a $30 admission fee stymied that.
Not only were there plans for yesterday, but today too. We arrived at Wheaton Village (Millville, NJ) for a function this afternoon. As we pulled in I saw a truck with a trailer. I didn’t think anything of it. Driving a little further I saw a car parked on an angle across many parking spaces. This is a major pet peeve of my wife’s. She started in on it when I realized this was a Shelby. Holy smokes! Sitting there just like that.
We parked nearby and I took my daughter over. I have learned to always be prepared so the camera and the GPS were at hand. Then I realized the trailer was for the Shelby. I talked to the owner and asked permission for a couple quick photographs. He was more than happy to oblige. We were running late so I only spent a moment oggling over this fine vehicle.
This Shelby did not race yesterday, but was in the parade.
This is a 1967 Shelby Mustang. It was originally purchased in Vineland, NJ (the next town over). The owner of this car restored it himself. He stated that it was in bad shape when he got it. The thing that most impressed me was that Shelby autographed the glove compartment himself. How cool is that?

. . . I drove down Buckshutem and then headed down Cedar. Along the way, I decided to stop and log the airport sign scavenger hunt. While I walked back to the car, I recalled there was a benchmark here I somehow never logged. I walked over and took several photographs of this good-condition mark.

I suspect I may have the easiest time logging this this scavenger hunt. This airport entry monument is within walking distance of my home. I stopped by on my way home from Bridgeton.
There isn’t much to add to this. I have photographed this monument several times over the years for various things. It’s there. And I’m done. ![]()

Fritz and I had finally made it to air conditioning.
We had a blast at the Downtown Car Show, but it was time to go home. Traffic is a mess with these events so it pays to snake through the winding municipal lot to come out on Wade rather than go up to 2nd. That saves two stop lights. As we hit the turn in the lot I was surprised to see this plate sitting here.
I’ve been looking for a plates for a while but nothing was very occupational in my travels. Well, here we have a violin teacher at Violin U. How about that!?!
Thanks for the fun.
