Community Participation
Thursday, March 15th, 2007Gannett has instituted StoryChat on its newspapers’ web sites. StoryChat permits readers to discuss a specific news article with others. I find it wonderful, although I have yet to actually post.
One can really get the pulse of a community from following the discussions. The Daily Journal, our local daily, published an article about the Vineland Board of Education meeting last night where the public first learned of possible teacher cuts (my job) due to an $8 million “shortfall”.
Once published, the community then gets its chance to participate. I find the online discussion about this issue fascinating!
