I have never heard they were doing away with Dead End signs, but I will grant that No Outlet signs are plentiful. I had been in no hurry to log this as I know Dead End signs are plentiful in the area.
As Ken and I were out and about today this was a convenient to stop and log. Interestingly, across the street was a No Outlet sign. Perhaps the CO is correct in that newer signs are changing terminology.
Very interesting . . .

The Blitzkrieg continued as we snaked through Pennsauken/Merchantville once again. We arrived at a gasoline station where this Willy was sitting in one of the beds. Apparently it is always here. The folks at the station were very kind to let us look at it and photograph it.
A very nice vehicle indeed!

Sometimes the stars align and good fortune shines upon you. I don’t know much about that, mind you, but it is said to happen.
I met up with my buddy Ken for another exploration day. We do these on a regular basis. We played in his area today. He had been perusing my Help Wanted list and had planned some stops during our Blitzkrieg. Early on he brought me to the Flyers SkaeZone in Pennsauken. I asked why we were here. He said I needed a Zamboni. D’oh! Sometimes I can be so dense.
But to be truthful, this Zamboni hunt was not on my mind. I had long ago figured I would eventually make it to a hockey game (who cares if it’s been 20 years since I saw a game live?) and take the necessary photograph then.
Yet, here we were. There are two ice rinks and a Zamboni available. We asked and the one guy working there didn’t know much. He just said after the current skate was over it would come out. How long that would be no one knew. We left.
Later in the day as we doubled back for some things we made another stop. No one was around at all. After a pit stop we decided to look for the Zamboni. Some guy came out and we explained what we were looking for. It was no problem whatsoever. I even got to sit in one.
They actually have two ice resurfacers. One was being worked on. That was the larger of the two. The smaller one the guy took out and resurfaced one of the rinks for us. I am pretty certain if I had pushed he would allowed me to ride the thing, but I backed off.
This was really kewl. The things one does for this game never ceases to amaze me.

Last week as I was perusing the list of scavenger hunts I still need to complete, I asked Gert if she knew anyone who looked like Kenny Rogers. She immediately said Ken did. I pondered that for a moment. I suppose. I never considered it before.
Later that day Ken called. I asked him if anyone ever said he looked like The Gambler. He sighed. “Yes . . . unfortunately.” He said he didn’t see it himself but that for several years folks have commented that he resembles the singer. Long silvery hair and a beard does it, I guess.
So today we hooked up for an exploration day. While we were at the SkateZone in Pennsauken I snapped this photograph of Mr. Kenny Rogers himself.
Ken shared with me that he saw Kenny Rogers on the Steel Pier back in 1967 when he was still with the First Edition. I shared that I was still in diapers at that point.
Dear reader, what do you think? Does Ken pass for Kenny Rogers?

I believe this is Pennsauken here. I get so confused as all the towns blend together up here.
Anyhow, Ken introduced me to this fantastic memorial to the fallen on 9/11. It is the finest memorial I have seen to date for this tragedy.
There is a paver for Michael Mullan of the FDNY. He was from Ladder 12 in Manhattan. He gave all that fateful day. God bless, Michael.
