What is the saying about he who hesitates? I have not attended to the Neverending Scavenger Hunt as I should. Thus, I have lost out on many hunts. This is one such one. Rick, who I think played the game extremely well, left in November 2007. Without any warning, temper tantrums, etc. he closed up shop and moved on. He was tired of waiting for attention to the game.

Rick had several good hunts. This was one I just procrastinated on. Today in my adventures I passed Stockton and pulled in. As I approached, I passed security/police. He immediately turned around. I did not look closely; he looked like a trooper, but why would a trooper be on the college’s property? Anyhow, I got right out and explained what I was doing. He smiled and said, “Okay.”

I suspect this is one of the tinier observatories. I haven’t been in one since school. I am one of those who just doesn’t see the constellations. I’ve tried, just failed. I’ll be making another attempt soon enough, I suspect.

Anyhow, thanks Rick for the hunt.

Well, there should be bonus points awarded for this. ;) Here is the street sign for the intersection of Indiana and Baltic avenues in Atlantic City, NJ. Of course, AC is the town this popular game is based in.

Pretty much every time I come to Atlantic City I swing by here. I enjoy this old lighthouse.

This hot air balloon water tower is on the north end of Atlantic City as one comes in from the White Horse Pike. I took the coordinates from across the street. This used to be a drive-in food joint. The screens to order are still up, but the building is long gone.

This is another scavenger hunt that is identical to another.

Finally. This one was scheduled for much earlier in the day. P-Pop usually takes me to good places so I was looking forward to getting back here. I was a bit concerned when at the end of power line road there was mush. I knew I wasn’t going through that. Then I saw the trail.

I got to the end of the trail in no time but had plenty of distance left. I remembered having read a cache that required crossing water. Of course, I had no idea if it was around here, Delaware, etc., but it sure was looking like that is what I was going to have to do. The water was deep enough on this February day for me to ponder whether I would actually do it. I waited a minute and the GPS caught up. I went back to the trail and there it was, right where I had been initially. I guess I need to add looking for coffee cups to my repertoire as this is the second one I have found recently that has had me scratching my head for a moment.

I actually traded at this cache.  I saw Wigoweb had left a couple signature coins.  They are not trackable on Groundspeak, but from some other company I have not heard from previously.  I decided to pick one up to see how this works.

I thought this was going to be the last cache of the day, but I was able to squeeze in another. (more…)
