It appears eCache was hacked last evening. I waited to hear from my host, but in typical fashion, they absolve any responsibility.
I need to attend to the looks of things around here, but I am not certain when I will have time to attend to that. In the meantime, enjoy the out-of-the-box theme.

Just tired. Lots on my plate right now. Am re-designing the top level of the domain. I don’t like it right now, but until Social Thing accepts me, this what I am working on. I would love to customize Social Thing to my domain at the top level. Would be a wonderful thing.
Phillies are 0-2 to start the season. Deflates my enthusiasm for the season, even though I haven’t really gotten going yet.

A long time ago I implemented a wiki on this site. It was short-lived. Yet, the idea has stuck with me.
Today I began work the next phase of the Ladow network. There will be is a wiki. It’s nowhere near ready for prime time, but the process has begun. The initial focus will be creating a biography together. Once that is done, I imagine it will branch out into documenting beliefs, projects, etc.
I do envision this wiki being built by a community. Those who can add to the biography, provide perspective on events, and the like will be encouraged to do so.
Eventually, some of the content on eCache (FAQs, etc.) will be removed to the wiki, where I believe it will be better suited. That will leave eCache to act as merely as a blog, not a CMS, as it should.

A friend of mine e-mailed me last evening. He had stumbled across the name Ladow in an old issue of South Jersey Magazine. He recognized the name from my domain and asked if there is a relationship.
I am sure there is, but there is no relationship with me . . . at least not a familial one.
Long ago I lived in an apartment that was on Ladow Avenue here in Millville. In September 2004 I had all sorts of domain issues with my previous host. They were not able to resolve the issue without setting up a new account. I decided to retire that domain name (frolickin.com). I felt under the gun to select a new name. Gert signed off on this. The blog was re-named briefly from eCache to 28J, which was the apartment number I had at that complex.
I’ve never been thoroughly satisfied with the name, but it is where our (virtual) home is now.

A few readers have written to indicate that they have had some issues with photographs displaying. The issue is not with eCache but rather IE. It seems to choke on some images. I am not certain why and frankly am not terribly concerned. While I am an owner of M$FT, their browser is not good.
Nevertheless, I decided to tackle this issue today. There’s been some maintenance I’ve wanted to address and now that WP 2.3 is out, I decided it was time to upgrade.
The upgrade was smooth. I was very pleased with how well WP imported the tags from Ultimate Tag Warrior. I was fearful I was going to lose the tags on 3000 posts. Happily, it was trivial.
I’ve been tweaking and there’s plenty left to do, but things are in pretty good shape. The upgrade took care of the IE issue as well so it appears to be a success so far.
