Laura Ingraham

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

What’s up with Laura Ingraham?  She began her new show Just In on 16 June 2008.  I watched that first episode.  I have seen a few since.  I like Ingraham, although the show isn’t much.  It is better than John Gibson was and Fox News was seeking something to fill the 5:00 slot.

The other day I had it on but E.D. Hill was hosting.  She did again today as well.  I suspect she has all week.

So, work three weeks and take one week off?

I noticed, however, that Bull Moose commented on Ingraham’s radio show the other day.  So, it’s not like she’s been on vacation and unavailable.  She was on The Factor tonight for her weekly spot.

I don’t get it, and I don’t think this is how to build an audience.

We arrived in Belmar, NJ and News 12 rushed out to cover us!  We felt like celebrities.

No, that’s not quite what happened.  I brought Beetle and Fritz up here to see the Annual Sandcastle Contest.  When we arrived on the scene we saw this news truck sitting there with its dish up.

I am not from the area so I asked; News 12 is a television station.  The guys were hard at work, as you can see. :)

The event was rocking!  We had a blast.

New Jersey Can’t Afford It

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

The new motto for the Garden State needs to be We Can’t Afford It.  The other day I wrote about the Bayshore Heritage Byway that is proposed.  As wonderful as it is, we can’t afford it.

The Daily Journal picked up on this as well.  Today’s editorial is about expanding healthcare coverage to those who can’t afford it.  Our elected officials say it will cost a mere $68 million more dollars this year.  Sigh . . .

New Jersey has the highest property taxes in the nation and one of the worst business climates in the country. The state is at least $32 billion in debt and is facing structural billion-dollar budget deficits for years to come. Abbott school districts, including Vineland and Millville, have raised taxes and cut teachers. The state is planning to cut municipal aid and charge rural communities for state police coverage. The state simply has no money, and has its hand out to taxpayers for more.

We need to hammer home this message because the folks in Trenton just don’t get it.

Line of the Day

Michael Arrington wrote today over at TechCrunch:

The days of paying for recorded music are nearly over. And there’s nothing Napster can do to change that.

How ironic!

Scoble Is Frustrating

Monday, May 19th, 2008

Last August Robert Scoble was pumping Facebook so much he decided he would create content that was only available there. Many (including yours truly) took him to task for that. His response? He replied via Facebook.

Advance to today . . . all of a sudden Facebook is evil because it is rumored to be of Microsoft’s purchase list.

This is a fight for the Web. We all just crawled inside a box that locks Google out.

Don’t believe me?

Go to Google and do a search for “Le Web 08.”

Do you see a Facebook entry there? Nope. Google is locked out of the Web that soon will be owned by Microsoft. We will never get an open Web back if these two deals happen.

Listening to Scoble is frustrating. It is akin to listening to Dick Morris pontificate on Fox News. When the story changes, so does his perspective.
