Blimps

This is the Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey blimp. My little camera couldn’t zoom any closer and keep things in focus. It was floating above the beach at Belmar, NJ.
I’ve always been enamored with blimps. Not terribly far from here is the site of the Hindenburg disaster. Like most, I suspect, my knowledge of these aircraft is limited to Monday Night Football. And while I am not a huge fan of heights, I think flying in a blimp would be fun.
Alas, this was not the day.
