Rainbows

Gert called out to me that there was a lovely rainbow. I immediately got up, grabbed my camera and GPS, and walked outside to take in the sight.
Now all that may sound like I was awaiting an opportunity to log this. Truthfully, that was not the case. I had forgotten about this hunt. I am in the mode right now of documenting just about anything. It’s been an interesting month doing that, but extremely time consuming.
Anyhow, I took my shots, did the nod of glee, and filed these photographs onto a back-up.
Just now I was poring over the plethora of scavenger hunts to do and trying to provide some organization to the list when I came to this one. D’oh!
So, down to the basement and trying to figure out which were the recent back-ups. See some water near the air conditioner. Sigh . . . not certain if I have the correct archives, come back up and start looking through things. It appears I am missing a week from mid-June. I just know that is where the rainbows shots are. After some time, I actually find these.
Rainbows make me think of a specific Dead show I attended in 1987 at the Spectrum in Philly. We were there early and the heavens just opened up. Craig and I took shelter in his ‘78 Monte Carlo. Two folks we didn’t came in to stay dry as well. The rust-colored vehicle was pelted with rain for about 45 minutes. Once the storm ended the sun lighted the sky and out came a most wonderful rainbow.
Then something that I haven’t forgotten occurred. The thousand or so folks in the parking lot began to applaud. That’s right, the rainbow earned a standing ovation. I always thought that was pretty neat.
