Hunter’s Mill, Finder’s Cache

I had planned on going after the two puzzle caches along here, but as I drove down 49 I realized this was closer.  I banged a U-y and pulled over near the trailhead.  I have poked in and out of many of these entrances to Peaslee over the years, although I had never been down this one.

The trail in was pleasant until the fork.  At that point, maintenance was done and briars were everywhere.  No biggy as they were easily avoided here in February.  I imagine this will be an utter bitch to get to in June.

Maggy took me a bit past GZ.  It was a nice spot along a tributary, but a moment later I was heading back to GZ where I found the ammo box sitting out in the open.  It appears the last cacher did not re-cover the cache with that big piece of bark sitting next to the box.

The cache sticker was a new one for me.  It’s from Cafe Press, but by a different seller than I recognized.  The cache was well-stocked.

I actually traded at this cache.  I took a Coca~Cola geobutton and left a red keychain.  I also left a What Do You Know? sticker.  I had made these up back in 2004 and left them in some caches.  I apparently placed them in a secret compartment in my cache bag.  I stumbled across them recently and decided to leave one here.  Go figure . . .

I saw and heard no wildlife here, which I thought was odd on this spectacular day.  I re-hid the cache using the bark that was present and headed onto another cache.

Also blogged on this date . . .
