Welcome to Cumberland Pond
This is the log for theguenthergang’s Welcome To Cumberland Pond cache, which I found 14 January 2008 @ 5:02 PM.

This afternoon I noticed this cache. I had forgotten the GPS and was planning on doing a couple benchmarks instead, so I put this one on the list for tomorrow morning.
The benchmarks did not go well.
I arrived home and Gert immediately suggested Jim’s Lunch for dinner. That was agreeable. I mentioned I would dart off for this one a few miles down and pick up dinner on the way back. Jim’s is usually a wait so it should work out well.
I pulled into this familiar spot (time to pick up the CCT stage nearby, I suppose). The cache was in hand in no time and I logged the find. I had forgotten the camera. Sigh . . . I’ll stop by some other time to snap the cache photographs.
The marker along 49 is toppled over. I am not certain why that is. The markers in this area are interesting. Lots of history. And of course, the old furnace is across the street.
BTW, I was listening to the Genealogy Guys podcast while I found this. And the Texas wiener and cheeseburger were awesome . . . as always.
