As most of the readers know, the job I held for the previous five years was eliminated this year. It is interesting how this has played out.
I very much enjoy what I am doing now. But I am still asked to do my old job on occasion. I switched buildings. One reason was to avoid being the crutch that the other school relies upon. From the looks of their intranet, not much in the way on technology is going on these days. That’s a shame.
I was reminded of that the other day with this Dilbert comic strip. So often management thinks it can do away with pieces and have others pick up the pieces. It doesn’t work quite that well for technology.

Interestingly, I spent time after work updating a database I built several years ago for another school.
