Happy Fifth Cacheversary

Five years ago today, Gert and I found our first cache. In the past I have celebrated by finding some caches on each cacheversary. Today will be no different.

The Present
Cacheversaries are usually spent caching. These dates have all fallen on weekdays, so I have crammed in some caches before and after work. Today I have added to the schedule as I listed a new cache.

This is a cache that has been in works since the summer. I began exploring more fully an area I came to like a few years ago. I eventually placed a cache there. At that time back in July, I decided I would hold off publishing this and wait until today. For some reason it just seemed like a good idea.

It wasn’t long before a plan was hatched. I decided that I would list it at Groundspeak. This would be the first cache I listed there since March 2004. Longtime readers have read some of the struggles I encountered whilst trying to list caches during the summer of 2004. Since then, I backed away and listed my caches elsewhere.

On this my fifth cacheversary, I thought I would list this one for the puzzle-solving South Jersey caching community. I repeated my Take Me Out to the Ball Game puzzle with this new cache. I am hopeful that this cache will positively impress those who seek it. The puzzle is challenging. The journey to the cache is excellent! I think the location is very peaceful. It is definitely my kind of environment.

I subscribe to placing caches for others to enjoy. Please, enjoy this cache.

The Past
A current catch phrase is what happens in Vegas remains in Vegas. To that point, whatever may have occurred in the past regarding caching can remain there. I harbor no ill feelings and will not dwell upon it. Should anyone have any questions, feel free to contact me.

The Future
I look forward to more caching. I kept a pace for the past 27 months that can no longer be sustained. Once I picked up playing other GPS games, I began feeling the pinch for time. I have now backed away from a lot of these games. Even so I will cache. Perhaps we will see each other along the trails, the waterways, or better yet, bushwhacking.

Happy cacheversary, dear reader.
