Jerry Carter Shows His True Colors
Jerry Carter, proprietor of Today’s Cacher, which hasn’t posted anything new in more than four months, demonstrated that he is no leader within the geocaching community.
Over the past several days folks have been having a blast taking an insolent newbie to task for his rudeness. While trackinthebox could use some tact, does he deserve Carter’s insult?
Commenting on why trackinthebox hadn’t posted in two hours and 14 minutes, Mr. Carter stated:
His mom probably took his computer away.
Hmmm . . . Carter’s indignity certainly does not display respect toward trackinthebox.
The Groundspeak fora guidelines state:
Respect: Respect the guidelines for forum usage, and site usage. Respect Groundspeak, its employees, volunteers, yourself, fellow community members, and guests on these boards. Whether a community member has one post or 5,000 posts, they deserve the same respect.
That some folks are held accountable to those guidelines and others aren’t seem to support trackinthebox’s premise, despite his lack of tact in communicating it. Carter is out of hand.
EDIT 8:09 p.m. EDT
The piling on continues. Carter is really taking it to this guy.
They are all the same subject. Your little whinny self was denied and like the 2 year old you are you stamped your feet and hoped all would yield to your antics. Why you haven’t been banned is beyond me. You’ve made threats to reviewers…yet you are still here.
No respect can be found in that post whatsoever. What purpose does it do other than to pile on someone? Is this leadership? Is this the kind of post that should instill any respect to Carter? Why would anyone fork over money to this guy let alone contribute to his magazine.
EDIT 8:12 p.m. EDT
Carter is just being an ass now.
Because he is an idiot that can’t read guidelines?
EIDT 8:21 p.m. EDT
Carter telling the guy to read the guidelines is quite ironic . . .
There are guidelines posted for every cache. You should read them sometime. You can read…right? if not I’ll be happy to talk you through them. Just PM me your number.
Don’t let the name El Diablo fool you. I’m a very nice friendly guy. Come see me sometime.
EDIT 8:34 p.m. EDT
After posting his telephone number, Carter tries to act tough with the following post:
My phone still isn’t ringing. What’s the matter…you don’t want to hear first hand on how wrong you are?
Say what you want about trackinthebox, but Carter has so trampled the guidelines that there is no defense for him not being disciplines.
EDIT 9:27 p.m. EDT
Where is the respect from Carter? When will the consequence for disregarding the fora guidelines so flagrantly be levied?
I’m curoius that a man of you influence doesn’t have enough minutes to chat to a person like me? Are you saying that you really don’t have the funds?
It’s ok. I just thought you might be man enough to talk to someone in person. I quess you are afraid.
I can understand that given your age. I’m sure your mom told you not to talk to strangers.
