When you entered the voting booth on 3 November 1998 and were asked to vote for the Open Space Preservation Act, did you think your tax dollars would go towards purchasing a golf course? And if so, did you think that once purchased, the land would continue to be run as a golf course?
The Cream Ridge Golf Course was purchased with $14 million of your tax dollars. Don’t expect them to waive greens fees for you either.
Just this afternoon I was informed (via e-mail) that my job will be eliminated next year because there are not enough tax dollars to fund the position, yet the state can afford to purchase a golf course.
Precious.

Sorry to hear about your job.
When we had a layoff a few years back they told us right before Christmas via e-mail that there would be some layoffs in January. No details or anything, then they actually said “Enjoy your holiday.”
Meanwhile we have hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars on the wall in art. Not quite equivalent because we aren’t a tax-run organization, but just as galling to me, because we are a pharma company not an art museum and especially since we could have really used a couple of the more experienced people they laid off not to long after they were let go.
Anyway, hopefully you can turn this into an opportunity.
Sheesh… that DC cache stuff was only a year ago? Seems like ages ago already.
