Corzine Apologizes
Yesterday it was discovered that Governor Corzine loaned $5000 to Karen GOlding. She, at the time, was under arrest for burglary and stalking state Assemblyman Joseph Cryan.
I do not have a big problem with this. Presumeably, if I were incarcerated, someone would bail me out. If I knew Mr. Corzine, perhaps I would ask him.
I still have no issue with the loan. Yet, Corzine issued an apology:
I reacted as a human being responding to someone in need. I have a friendly relationship with her family and she worked on my campaign. However, in light of my position as Governor, I realize this was a mistake. I did not adequately weigh the impact this situation could have on my position as a public official and the fact that it could divert attention away from the important issues facing the state.
I do not know why he feels an apology was needed. Corzine should be able to lend a family friend (with no political influence) a sum of money.
This is much ado about nothing.

Just came by to say hello and admire the great new looks of eCache.
In terms of the Crozine story, it clues us in that the Gov. is a soft touch and can’t say no when it comes to money. That doesn’t bode well for March 21.

Sorry. The first time you post, I have to approve it. I did, then deleted the “typo” post. Then you posted #2 above, which was a duplicate of a previous post. I deleted the previous one.
Sorry for the confusion. Thanks for stopping by. I am still working on the design, but it’s getting there.
