Mays Landing, NJ

A little town just outside Atlantic City, NJ up Great Egg Harbor is Mays Landing. Mays Landing was named after a prominent shipbuilder and blacksmith in the area, George May. He was a contemporary of George Wheaton, another shipbuilder. This area was also home to the Absegami Indians, a branch of the Lenni Lenape. Absegami High School is in the area.

It should be noted that George May is not in any way related to the Captain May who first landed in what is now known as Cape May (my hometown). That was Captain Cornelius Jacobson Mey, fwiw.
