Camden, NJ
Interestingly, this house is not marked as Whitman’s house. The four row homes here have an administrative office (last house on right: 326?), a restored brick structure (328), Whitman’s house, and another house that needs work on the left. With nothing to go on, we thought the brick house was Whitman’s house, but shot photographs of this one just to make certain. As it turns out, it was fortunate we had.
Whitman’s house was added to the New Jersey Register of Historical Places on 27 May 1971 and the National Register on 15 October 1966 (66000461).
City of Camden site.
