Corzine PR Staff

So, I received the following e-mail tonight from Marilyn Davis, Corzine Connection press person. I am Corzine’s mailing list and get this stuff frequently. Read this and I’ll come back at the end.

Tonight is the second-to-last debate between the two candidates for Governor and Election Day is in just one week. We all know you plan to vote, and that you are supporting Jon Corzine and his vision for New Jersey. And that vote is critical — for the campaign and for our state’s future strength.

But just YOUR VOTE, as important as it is, is not enough on its own. We need your family, your friends, your neighbors — we need all New Jerseyans committed to affordability, honesty, and mainstream New Jersey values out at the polls in one week. And we need your help to get them there.

Sign up to be a GOTV (Get Out the Vote) volunteer now. Tonight’s debate is the kickoff of our last week of spreading Jon Corzine’s positive message. Listen to Jon detail his plans for making New Jersey more affordable, and Doug Forrester display his remarkable lack of detail on 88.3 FM in Northern NJ or listen online at

This is the second-to-last debate, and part of our final push to share Jon Corzine’s positive vision with all New Jersey voters.

We also have a special guest on the blog tonight: public policy expert Richard Roper will guest-blog and add context to the debate. Richard is a public policy consultant and the former Director of the Program for New Jersey Affairs at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, and a sharp and experienced observer of New Jersey politics. If youre listening to the debate, come by the Corzine Connection blog, ask questions, add comments, and just chat about the race and the issues.

Starting Friday, we will be running phone banks and door-to-door operations across the state through Election Day. There will be plenty of opportunities to help out — so no matter how full your schedule is there should be a little time you can squeeze in somewhere over those 5 days.

Neither opinion polls nor campaign ads will win this election — only voters win elections, and if we don’t get more voters out one week from today, then our vision for New Jersey will be left without a voice in Trenton. It’s that simple.

Listen to the debate tonight, then sign up now and a field staff person will give you a call to work out all the details about time, place, and activity. Fighting for our values takes work: on the ground, on the phone, in our communities work. And there is so much at stake — the financial security of our families, the health of our children, and our economic strength for years to come. All this is worth a little work, don’t you think?

Thanks,
Marilyn Davis
Executive Director, Corzine Connection

Do you see anything missing? How about a time there, Ms. Executive Director?!?!?!?!?

Poorly written press releases are a pet peeve. Anyone can make a mistake, but this coupled with Corzine’s poor math, begins to demonstrate that the attention to detail is not at the level I would like.

What other details are shabbily assembled?
