Bloviating

It seems to me that if you are a university professor who is going to educate your class, you should know the material. Not knowing what safe harbor is when discussing No Child Left Behind tells the audience you are not an authority on the subject.
Educators at the university level tend to be too far removed from the classroom to truly be able to speak to current issues. We hear of the war stories from when they were in charge, but really, telling us that families have to share the load of a child’s education is not worth the nearly $700 per graduate credit we pay. We are experiencing that daily. A seminar about it enlightens us to other facts than the ones intended.
