First Log

I was reading a thread somewhere tonight which asked one to recount his first log. A brief description of the outing is in the this piece. Here is the log for Lenape Chief Surpriise, posted on 17 November 2001.

This was our first experience with geocaching!

Silly us, we parked on the wrong side, but with the drought, it did not prove to be a big deal.

We got there and explored. It wasn’t too hard to find. Gert found it. She wanted all to know that!

We decided that we should camp down there, so I am certain we will come spring.

We left a puzzle keychain and a Where’s George bill. We took the 10 Kroner. We hope to leave that somewhere down the line.

The cache was in good condition.

Thank you for the wonderful experience. Geocaching has two new fanatics!

I am getting closer to getting video from this on the site. One of my summer projects has been to catalog some of my video. Most of the personal stuff is now archived, labeled, etc. Soon I will re-visit the caching stuff.

  • That drought lasted a while. There were other two caches (at least) I did during the drought that would have been much more difficult in a normal season (Lonely Twin Pines and Zoo Cache #1).
  • I had some really neat puzzle keychains I used in the beginning as swag. I wish I remembered where I got those. While I hardly trade anymore (but surprisingly did today), those keychains were nice.
  • While I am not certain, I believe the 10 Kroner was left at the Green Acres Stash cache.
  • We never did camp in Belleplain. Hmmm . . . we really should.
