First District Republican Candidate Falls Short of Expectations

Republican Assembly candidate (1st), Andrew McCrosson Jr., does not instill confidence. He is running with Jack Gibson (R-1) for the seat currently held by Jeff Van Drew (D-1). Knocking off the incumbant Van Drew who has had mediocre success is a long shot, but probably rendered near impossible this week for McCrosson.

In order to run for the seat, papers have to be filed with the state. It seems that Mr. McCrosson did not file those papers. There was a snafu where he thought Gibson’s office was taking care of that since it had during the last campaign.

I can certainly see how it occurred, but it does not excuse the action. McCrosson apparently has been sidetracked by Tax Day since that is his business. Again, understable, but not actions which instill confidence of the public. If McCrosson is too distracted to file papers to run, what exactly will he do to represent us? This is exactly where party politics should end. The Republican Party should step in right now and state it wants nothing to do with this inefficient candidate. It should run Mr. Gibson alone against Mr. Van Drew and Michael’s law father, Nelson Albano. Take one on the chin and rid yourself of this pure excuse for a candidate.

There should be no court challenge here.
