The Manor Macabre

It was a wonderful afternoon as Beetle and I expllored the bayshore. This was the first truly spectacular day and we enjoyed the sunshine and warmth. After getting to the water to check out some things I had found a few years ago, we were headed back home. All was right with the world.
But coming around the bend on Bacon’s Neck, an eerie feeling befell us. Beetle cried out. I lost control of the truck. For a few seconds, I was not in control whatsoever. And when I looked up to see where we had been directed to, a confident cachling came from outside the vehicle. I quickly looked around, but there was no one to see. Beetle and I sat there motionless for another moment before moving.
I eventually got out and walked up to the front door. I needed to know what had brought us here. I knocked and the door creakily swung open. In I went, each floorboard crying as I stepped. There was a low murmur of voices coming from the back and I turned to investigate. Just as I stepped toward the din, Beetle cried out. I turned and rushed back to the truck to find my daughter crying. It was as if she were saying, “Get me out of here now, Daddy!” Without hesitation, I floored it out of the driveway from this spooky house.
We were on Greate Street before I realized I hadn’t snapped the required photographs or recorded the coordinates. There was no way I was going back. The hair on the back of my neck was still standing. I looked and did not see the camera or the GPS. I pulled over and got out to check on Beetle. Tucked in the side of her car seat, was both the digital camera and the Maggy. The last several photographs were of the house. The GoTo on the GPS labelled Haunted. Had my eight-month old done this????????
