Michael Albano, a local high school student, was killed in an automobile accident on 20 December 2001. The man who struck Michael had had four previous DWI convictions. Michael’s parents lobbied Trenton and eventually, former Governor McGreevey signed what has become known as Michael’s Law. This law increases the penalties for the third DWI offense.
Mr. Albano was killed at the corner of West Avenue and Park Drive in Vineland, NJ. He stares at a friend of mine at his resting place at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
