Old Timey Outhouses

One of my favorite stops is the Head of the River church. I am not certain why, but I always seem to stop here on my way to and fro. The church is old as it was established in 1792. Each October is the annual meeting of the church. For the annual meeting, the outhouse out back is fully operational! Frankly, the outhouse is open 24/7/365.
It is a two-seater. I am not certain how that would work. My father used to tell me about the home he was born in. With no running water, he used an outhouse for the first several years of his life. I think I used to think, “No big deal.” Looking at that two hole bench today, I have reconsidered. I like my running water, thankyouverymuch!
