MIL in Green Acres
This is the log I submitted for the MIL in Green Acres cache, which I found 8 December 2004 @ 8:18 a.m.
As I futzed around some with caching stuff, I looked to see what was nearby. I noticed that this cache was on Brewster down toward the in-laws. Hmmm . . . description reads like an easy cache. Hmmm . . . I bet I could hit that after dropping off Beetle and before work. Hmmm . . .
I went to bed and it was a downpour. My plan was not going to work.
When I awoke, late, I was doubtful. Nevertheless, I did not dawdle. When I realized how nice of a day it was (60 degrees in December), I decided to see if this could be done. At worst, I’d be a few minutes late for work and frustrated.
Gert mentioned that she thought I was rushing to get out of the house. I suppose. I just think I was efficient. Obviously, that pushed her schedule. Sorry.
I dropped Beetle off, gave her a couple big kisses, and got on my way. In some respects, this was not out of my way at all. Granted, I had to leave Main Rd. for Brewster, but I avoided all the traffic. I probably will not change my route to Brewster, but it doesn’t cost much time.
I spotted the Boy Scout sign that Moose had posted a photograph of. I pulled in after driving by it. Hmmm . . . oh, well, I made the dash. Nice little trail around a huge field. The cache was easy to spot. I need to remember that I am using meters these days. When I saw .32 from the car, I was skeptical. As I zeroed in on the cache a minute or two later, I realized .32 was not miles, but km. Big difference.
The cache had a piece of black plastic bag wrapped about it. Blech! The cache contents were all children’s toys. I added everything from my goodies bag. It was a tight fit. One of the figurines and the snake can which Ken had given me would not fit. Not wanting to have any more stuff to deal with, I decided to leave them outside the container.
Back into the cubby I put the cache. I think it unlikely to be spotted by anyone other than a cacher.
