Out of Touch: Questioning My Liberalism
January 1st, 1989 | Posted in » Bob
It has just occured to me that there is absolutely no way I can understand a lot of our (society’s, I guess) problems. How am I to understand inner-city kids and the entire mess that surrounds them? I’m on the outside, fortunately I want to say, however, how am I to prescribe a prescription for something I can’t and won’t ever be able to appreciate?
I say stop tearing down the rain forests, but I’m not struggling to survive in an undeveloped and half-civilized part of a country either. If I saw my survival flashing in front of me I might do far worse than tear down trees.
