The Hooters opened
This was another concert I attended with Jeff Daut. As I recall, he called me a day or two before the show and asked if I was interested in going. I was not a fan of the band and did not have a great interest in going. Jeff convinced me it would be fun and I agreed.
We drove the Jeep on the grass. The scene here was interesting and definitely not what I was accustomed to. We drank a few beers and then got to talking to two girls each with red and blue hair.
The girls were friendly. The one had a blouse on with hundreds (if not a thousand) safety pins of it. I inquired. I do not recall her explanation, but she did take one off and pin it to my anorak. For years afterwards, I had that safety pin affixed to me. It became a conversation piece.
We eventually went in and took our seats. We were close, real close. The Hooters were on. I knew them from MMR and they were very good. As a Philly band, they were most well-received. The B-52s were wild. I had a great time at this show. As I recall, Rock Lobster was played twice.
